Pride Events
  • Pride at the Centre!
We have a Pride event which the Spruce Grove GSA Society is co-hosting with the Multicultural Heritage Centre on June 15th! Please join us! There will be a ton of cool things to do. Twelve organizations are coming from Edmonton, St Albert, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, and Stony Plain. We have interactive art, a photo booth, a scavenger hunt, glitter tattoo’s, a deck dance, button making, games, prizes, PRIDE SWAG, food, snacks and prizes!!! https://www.facebook.com/events/2235426773362133/?ti=icl
  • Pride in the Park!
The 2nd annual free to attend family event! Everyone is invited.
1-4 pm at Shikaoi Park. There will be music, games, rock painting, prizes and more. They are also collecting monetary and food donations for the Parkland Food Bank.
  • Spruce Grove Crosswalk!!!!
The City of Spruce Grove has made strong steps towards LGBTQ2S inclusivity in the past few years, most recently for two years in a row they have put up phenomenal Pride banners along King Street in front of Central Park!
This year, The City of Spruce Grove has made a permanent leap forward with a Rainbow PRIDE Crosswalk!
Rumour has it the day they will be painting is Friday June 21st! This will be on King Street in between City hall and the current RCMP station!! I will be updating our Facebook, Instagram, and website as more details are available!!
  • Stony Plain Crosswalk!!!!
There will also be another amazing opportunity for you to paint a Pride crosswalk in Stony Plain!!! This is happening on Saturday June 22ndat 1pm.You can paint your Rainbow in Stony Plain at the intersection of 49 street and 51stavenue! This is huge inclusive project from the Town of Stony Plain, Stony Plain FCSS, and the Stony Plain Public Library! Please email Tannis from Pride in the Park if you would like to volunteer: pitpstonyab@gmail.com
  • Spruce Grove GSA Garage Sale, Bottle Drive, Food Drive, Clothing Drive, Hot Dog Sale
This is another event which our Spruce Grove GSA will be planning, and I would really appreciate as much Community involvement as possible.
On August 10thwe will be holding a Garage Sale at St Andrew’s United Church! This will actually be a huge undertaking and I will need a lot of help with this one.

The Garage Sale part is easy… Please start collecting anything that you would like to donate to the Spruce Grove GSA and have it labeled for sale for the day.
We will be taking in donations for the Parkland Food Bank on that day.
There will also be a clothing drop off for our in-need population. Even though it will be mid-summer, winter will be just around the corner.
We will also be taking in bottles and pop cans in a separate bin so our kids don’t have to run out to acreages or homes and introduce themselves.
And finally, we will have a BBQ set up with hot dogs and drinks for sale!
(Whew) Like I said!!! I need Help!!!
  • Events around Alberta
I have a list of Pride events. These include some of the events which are happening all around Alberta! Please check them out if you have a chance. As a smaller community, it is so important that we continue to support our LGBTQ2S communities in smaller towns and cities. Our LGBTQ2S community is thriving in these communities! Not just in the large cities!!
            Have a Happy Pride!

FRIENDS of the GSA –We NEED fabulous people like YOU!!!
We absolutely need help!
Some of the ways you can fabulous:
Please: Donate food to our youth GSA meetings or grocery store gift cards, craft items, monetary donations, click on the donate buttonon our website, spend time with us at different events (bottle drives, collect bottles and donate the money to the GSA account online), GSA meetings, parades, resource fairs, etc)
Contributions of any size will be used to support youth through the purchase of materials that will be used at our meetings, as well as to fund excursions to special events within the community. They will also support the GSA Society as a whole by helping us with operational expenses such as liability insurance and equipment. We are a 100% volunteer-run organization; all funds will go to ensuring we can continue to offer services to youth.
We will appreciate and put to good use every donation we receive and, more importantly, your donations will contribute to making youth understand that they are welcome in and supported by our community.
