September 16th, 2021
To our absolutely amazing GSA kids and our community:
On September 15th, the government of Alberta announced a return of restrictions, and implemented a public health emergency.
As the Covid-19 numbers keep climbing in our communities, we have been left with difficult decisions.
The ability to support our youth and to provide everyone with a safe space, has always been our top priority. Our safe space must also consider the health and well-being of our entire community. Our youth, their families and caregivers, the members of St. Andrew’s United Church, and our tri-region.
Effective immediately our GSA will be meeting outside St. Andrew’s United Church.
Requirements to attend Spruce Grove GSA:
• Proof of Covid vaccination
• Pre-registration by email or text
• Covid health checks before attending
• Physical distancing
• Hand sanitizing
Since March 2020 every youth and adult involved with our GSA has gone above and beyond the recommended restrictions set in place by the Alberta Government and AHS.
Every single one of you have my utmost love and admiration. You have done this all with smiles, laughter, and of course frustration through the past year.
We will be outdoors to ensure we continue to provide the safest possible space for our youth and our community. When the weather turns and GSA is postponed, please always remember that we are not closed, we are just taking a small break until it is warm again or restrictions have lessened and it is safe for us to move indoors.
All our love,
Jody Tucker (she/her)
GSA Coordinator | President
Ash Tucker (they/them)
GSA Coordinator |Vice President
We are back into the swing of things with our Spruce Grove GSA, as well as school and work for a lot of our youth!
This Friday, September 10th, we will be tackling something completely new (for me), and artsy. Try your hand at spoon painting!
On Friday September 24th it’s time to showcase your artwork with our button making contest! For the past few months, you have been creating designs that are completely you! We will have someone special joining us to pick 5 button designs and there will be prizes to be won! We will also be making your artwork into buttons for you to take home that evening.
Our guest is a teacher & Vice Principal with Parkland School Division, and a councillor with the City of Spruce Grove. Bring questions for Mr. Dave Oldham about Spruce Grove, and the fun of working with youth!
Please remember to pre-register for GSA through email, text, or our social media accounts.
Everyone is required to wear a mask upon entering St. Andrew’s United Church and do a health check before attending GSA. No coughing, sneezing, sore throat, fever, body aches, etc.

Some of the ways you can contribute:
Monetary donations, donations of non-perishable snacks for our food pantry program, click on the donate button on our website, spend time with us at different events or resource fairs.
Contributions of any size will be used to support youth through the purchase of materials that will be used at our meetings, as well as to fund events within the community.
We are a 100% volunteer-run organization; all funds will go to ensuring we can continue to offer services to youth.
Please Donate your bottles to the Spruce Grove GSA Society!
We will gladly arrange to pick up bottles once a month. This will greatly help with our fundraising!
Thank you to the folks who are currently donating to our GSA!
Non-perishable food donations
The past few years we have seen an increase with some youth, either in person or through social media, who might require a few extra snacks through the day or at school. Through a generous donation by the Rotary Club in Spruce Grove, our GSA has expanded to include a snack pantry for youth.
If you are a youth looking for extra snacks throughout the week, or if you know of a youth who might need some snacks, please connect with us for a local drop off for snacks.
All requests are 100% confidential.
